About
I’m John Jennings, a professional photographer and filmmaker based in Ottawa, with nearly a decade of experience behind the lens. My journey began at Trent University, where I was the lead photographer for several campus associations and graduating classes. From there, I expanded my focus to include small business clients and family portraits in Peterborough, while also developing a deep love for street and landscape photography across Peterborough and Toronto.
Over the years, I’ve exhibited in multiple gallery shows and have had my work published in both print and digital media. Today, I run a full-service photography studio in downtown Ottawa, where I work with a diverse range of clients—including business professionals, political figures, families, and creative individuals. My studio work covers everything from headshots and portraiture to product, branding, real estate, and event photography. And while I love the controlled environment of a studio, I’m just as comfortable working on location, wherever the story needs to be told.
My client list includes organizations such as Discovery Year, Abloom Landscaping, The Canadian Chamber of Commerce, The Ottawa Heart Foundation, TCU Development Corp, The Ottawa Medical Society, and The Society for the Study of Reproduction. Every project I take on is approached with focus, care, and a sharp creative eye—because I believe great images aren’t just seen, they’re felt.
In recent years, I’ve also expanded into videography, producing branded content, commercials, interviews, and documentary-style features for companies like Plantaform, Beyond Networking, Clip & Swap, Samdesk.io, and Rockin’ Johnny’s Diner. Whether it’s photography or video, I bring a deep understanding of light, composition, and storytelling to everything I create.
When I’m not on assignment, you’ll still find me with a camera in hand—chasing light, exploring new places, and capturing the kind of images that make people stop and feel something.
